It's 1936 and we meet renowned haggis maker Jock McTavish from Dundee!
Each year Jock makes only a few of his renowned (and much sort after) delicacies based on the clan McTavish secret family recipe … using ultra secret ingredients.
It will very soon be Burns night and Jock receives an urgent telegram from a VIP in London requesting one of his very special haggis.
To get the haggis to London on time Jock’s only option is to travel by way of the fastest form of transport in the land: The legendary ‘Flying Scotsman’ steam locomotive.
The story ensues, based on Jock’s journey down the East Coast of Great Britain – passing through key mainline stations and utilising the amazing water trough technology of the day – to enable the ‘Scotsman’ (loco and man alike!) to travel non-stop to London.
En route, in its bid to deliver Jock and his haggis to the VIP in London, the ‘Flying Scotsman’ is officially clocked at a staggering 100mph – the fastest a train has ever travelled!
Jock and his precious culinary delicacy arrives at Kings Cross to deliver the fine Scottish fare to the VIP. But who is this hungry and demanding person? Read the story to find out!
